Metalcraft acquires assets of Jordan Manufacturing
Stainless Metalcraft (Metalcraft) has acquired the trade and selected assets of Jordan Manufacturing.
Jordan Manufacturing, which was part of the Redhall Group, will now be integrated into Metalcraft’s operations in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.
It was previously owned by Redhall Group plc, which was placed into administration on 10 June 2019, and was acquired from Christopher Petts and Sarah O’Toole of Grant Thornton UK LLP, who are acting for Redhall Group.
Austen Adams, managing director of Metalcraft, said: “I’m really pleased we’ve been able to complete this deal, which follows hot on the heels of our acquisition of Booth Industries from administrators in June this year.
“Jordan Manufacturing provided specialist manufacturing and fabrication services for a number of high-profile clients, primarily in the nuclear, industrial and oil & gas markets.
“The acquisition strengthens Metalcraft’s position as a key player in the nuclear supply chain and is part of our mission to develop the business to become a global leader in high-value, niche engineering sectors.”
Redhall Group announced plans to appoint administrators to a number of its businesses in May, with Metalcraft acquiring Bolton-based Booth Industries on 10 June, saving 90 jobs.
At the time of the acquisition, Adams – who has recently been appointed interim chair of the Business Board of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, said: “The nature of the Booth business is akin to existing businesses in the division. Some of Booth’s key customers overlap with those of Metalcraft and Peter Brotherhood, which affords our Process Solutions and Rotating Equipment division the opportunity to expand its offerings to these accounts. We are confident about restoring Booth to clear leadership in its chosen market niche.”
